Dr. Amanda Preimesberger and Dr. Traese Kuhl are the family physicians behind rootsMD Direct Care Family Medicine, a direct primary care (DPC) clinic serving the Madison area. DPC is a healthcare model where patients pay a membership fee to access primary care services, bypassing traditional medical insurance.
After working for years in insurance-based health care, Dr. Preimesberger founded rootsMD in 2021 to provide patients with unrushed, relationship-based, price-transparent medical care. With the hassle of billing insurance companies removed, rootsMD physicians are able to have more time with patients, offer continuity of care regardless of a patient’s job changes and focus on delivering quality care, rather than high-volume rushed care necessary to cover overhead associated with insurance billing.
At rootsMD, the monthly membership fees are based on a patient’s age. In addition to doctor communications and visits, members can receive discounted pricing for lab work, diagnostics and medications. The medical practice also offers select self-pay procedures for non-members and Executive Health programs for additional cost savings.
