This week we sat down with Kate Bast, the Editor-in-Chief for BRAVA Magazine. In and out of the office, Kate is a true leader of the BRAVA gals and is constantly pushing for each issue of BRAVA to be better than before.
Check out Kate’s interview below, and check back each week as we shine a spotlight on another Nei-Turner employee.
25 years’ publishing experience, in every position on the editorial masthed. I’ve worked on city, regional, state and international pubs, and have lead magazine launches and re-envisionments and redesigns.
What is your creative outlet?
My work crafting and packaging magazines and rich, engaging and meaningful content. Outside the office I love to cook.
What’s your favorite part about working for Nei-Turner Media Group?
The fact that NTMG employs 27 fabulous women + 1 great fellow!
In the office, you are the one who…
started the use of the word “gal” when referring to the BRAVA Magazine team. We now call ourselves the “BRAVA Gals.”
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning medal for?
Chocolate consumption + insomnia.
Lakes or ocean?
Small, pristine, naturally gorgeous mountain lakes.
What’s something you’ve been meaning to try but just haven’t gotten around to it?
Lots of things. I’ve always been kind of like Max Fisher from “Rushmore.”
Summarize yourself in 3 words.
Creative. Social. Curious.
